
Dr. Jemima Pierre-Jacques DNP, CRNP, PMHNP-BC
Jemima Pierre-Jacques is a doctorally-prepared, board-certified Psychiatric-
Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over eight years of nursing
experience. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Howard
University in 2012 and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from the
University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2020. She is trained in caring for child,
adolescent, and adult clients with different psychiatric disorders and has
worked in behavioral health for four years in diverse inpatient and outpatient
settings.
Regardless of one’s background, Dr. Pierre-Jacques is committed to
providing evidence-based, efficient, culturally congruent, trauma-informed,
and compassionate care to each client. She focuses on medication
management and strongly encourages clients to work with a therapist
simultaneously to achieve optimum mental and emotional wellness. She
enjoys working with clients across the lifespan and treats many conditions,
including mood disorders, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD),
attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and psychotic disorders.
She is committed to evidence-based practice, research, continuing education,
and patient advocacy. She is a proud member of American Association of
Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Psychiatric Nurses Association
(APNA), Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM), American
Nurses Association (ANA), Maryland Nursing Association (MNA), and
Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society (STTI).
Dr. Pierre-Jacques recognizes the stigma attached to mental illness,
preventing many from seeking much-needed care. She is a passionate mental
health advocate who aims to help reduce mental illness stigma through
education. Using a holistic approach, Dr. Pierre-Jacques will work
collaboratively with the team of mental health clinicians at RCWC to meet
clients’ evolving needs and support them in achieving their therapeutic goals.
